The Situation
When the Nevada Irrigation District (NID) upgraded the water lines along Banner Lava Cap Road, the new pipeline was put in place—but hydrants weren't included as part of that project. Based on early neighborhood research from a few years ago, we understand the main pipeline may have the baseline capacity to support fire hydrants, making their installation a natural next step.
Our Goal
We are reviving a neighborhood initiative to investigate the feasibility of adding hydrant coverage along Banner Lava Cap Road, specifically the stretch between Wings of Morning Drive and Starwood Lane. This single corridor fronts more than 40 residential lots.
A few years ago, dedicated neighbors laid incredible groundwork for this project, securing initial encouragement from the Fire Marshal, NID, and local leadership. They all agreed the safety need is there. We are picking the baton back up to see what it will take to finally make it happen, ensuring our neighborhood—and our neighbors—have the protection we need.
